Foundation Welcomes, Artist Leonard Yang

Leonard Yang is an artist working primarily in the medium of painting. Across his paintings, man-made dwellings meet minutely detailed landscapes comprising trees, rocks, sky, sea, flowers, as well as animalistic and humanoid figures in outlandish gestures and expressions. His paintings shed light on native histories, dystopias, climate change, as well as the emotional connection between home and an adopted place.

Leonard has exhibited widely in the state of New York and abroad. He has been curated in exhibitions at Silvermine Gallery, Bowery Gallery, Mizuma Gallery, The Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore (ICAS), and The Visual Arts Development Association (VADA) Singapore. Leonard has held residencies at Millay Arts, NY, USA, and the Goethe Institute Indonesia.
